Genetic fingerprinting
Plant 'fingerprinting' or genotyping as its technically known, serves a valuable function for many different players in agricultural markets. There are two components to fingerprinting services.
- Genotyping: Using molecular marker technology, a unique genotype, or 'fingerprint' of a plant variety is identified. Floragenex uses our exclusive RAD Marker system to genotype plants.
- Screening: Using basic genetic tools, plants are checked against known genotypes to establish their genetic identity.
