ABOUT US

Founded in 2007

We provide high-quality, reliable genomic data and consistently meet the needs of customers in various industries and applications.

In those intersecting terrains of ecology, conservation, and agriculture genomics, FGX, a subsidiary of Sedia® Biosciences Corporation, focuses on providing genomic technologies together with comprehensive project collaboration to academic, government, and commercial institutions. We provide invaluable support to scientists who are creating novel resources and positive impacts on our world.

Our sequencing projects have led to new plant varieties, increases in crop yields, improvement of animal breeding and herd management, developments in timber theft prevention, classification for wildlife conservation of endangered species, and numerous other applications.

FGX, as a subsidiary of Sedia® Biosciences Corporation, continues to invest in genomics technologies, which allow our clients to answer ever more complex questions in life sciences. Our guiding principle is to listen to our customers and continually improve our services to make sure our clients have the tools and results they need to advance their research.

500+

We've worked with over 500 scientists in 26 countries across the world.

350+

Our team has sequenced over 350 unique plant, animal, and archaeal species.

6TB+

In 2022 alone, we generated over 6 TB of Illumina NoveSeq 6000 data!

OUR TEAM

Left to Right: Greta Grim (Assistant Scientist), Courtney Bowmen (Manager, Laboratory), Joshua Owens (Sales & Marketing Director), Jade Ramirez (Assistant Scientist), Jason Boone (President). Not pictured: Jessica Walsh (Manager, Bioinformatics), Megan Criss (Bioinformatics), Marcia Forshee (Admin / Finance)

Our experts bring over 30 years of combined experience in RAD library construction, Illumina next-generation DNA sequencing and high-throughput bioinformatics analysis. Our group is also familiar with other sequencing strategies (whole genome shotgun, capture sequencing, etc.) so we can help in planning how to integrate RAD-Seq into an overall research program or larger study.

OUR LABORATORY

Floragenex originated in 2006 at the University of Oregon with the invention of restriction site-associated DNA sequencing, RAD-Seq. Today, FGX continues to keep up with the most current DNA sequencing strategies and technologies at our laboratory in Beaverton, OR. Additionally, we have strategic partners worldwide to provide support for all types of research.

"Floragenex has extensive expertise and experience in producing RAD-Seq libraries and it was more cost effective to work with them rather than developing the technique in-house"
